Questions & answers
What is OpenSheet?
OpenSheet is a lead generation tool for anyone who sells to local businesses. Type a kind of business and a city, and it finds the businesses, collects their emails, phone numbers and websites, and verifies the emails so you can reach out with far fewer bounces.
What does deep search do?
Deep search covers a whole city, area by area. It uses more of your searches because it finds more businesses: up to 51 in a big city. A normal search uses 1 to 3, depending on how many businesses are in the area.
Is OpenSheet free?
Yes. The free plan includes 5 searches a month (enough to search a whole town) with every lead shown in full, and 1,000 lead verifications a month, with no card needed. Pro is $49 a month and Business is $149 a month. Paying yearly gives you 14 months for the price of 12.
How does email verification work?
We check each email without sending it anything, so your leads never see a test message. We check for typos and throwaway inboxes, make sure the domain is real and can receive mail, look at who runs its mail, and check that the business's website is still up. Each address gets a result: Verified, Catch-all or Risky, and businesses that have closed are removed from your sheet. What it can't do: we don't log in to the mailbox itself, so if one person has left a company that is still running, their old address can still show as Verified. Catch-all means the server accepts every address, so nobody can confirm that one inbox. You can try it on your own list with the free bulk verifier: up to 1,000 contacts a month, no account needed.
Will verified emails ever bounce?
A few can. No verifier can promise zero bounces. OpenSheet checks every address for typos, throwaway domains, dead domains, missing mail servers and catch-all servers, and removes closed businesses, which keeps lists around 94–98% accurate. We don't run SMTP checks, which connect to each mail server to ask about the exact inbox. Doing that at scale needs dedicated mail servers that email providers often block, and it would raise prices for everyone. If you need even higher accuracy, run your final list through a service that specialises in SMTP verification; they usually cost little per address.
Which countries and cities can I search?
Any city, town or region, in any country. You can search one city at a time, or let Autopilot work through a long list of cities on its own.
Do searches that find nothing still count?
Yes. Each search costs the same whether or not it finds leads, so a search that finds nothing still uses one. A small town often needs just one search.
Can I export my leads to a CRM or email tool?
Yes. Download any sheet as a CSV file that opens in Excel or Google Sheets and imports into HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Instantly, Lemlist, Mailchimp and other tools.
Is it legal to email the businesses I find?
In most countries you can contact businesses about something relevant to their work using the contact details they publish, as long as you say who you are and let them opt out. Rules differ by country (for example CAN-SPAM in the US, CASL in Canada and PECR in the UK), so check the rules where you sell. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account whenever you like and keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Your saved leads stay in your account.
